Job Overview

The Intuit ProTax Group is looking for an experienced Product Designer who has passion for producing customer driven designs for complex software. Our designers are involved at every step of a project—from gathering insights, brainstorming, prototyping, and experimentation to launching pixel-perfect designs. This role will work closely with innovation teams to turn high-level concepts into tangible experience within our product.

Responsibilities

Work with innovation teams to progress concept into reality

Solve customer problems by synthesizing behavioral information and imagining things as they might be, not as they are

Strong visual design craft and proficiency with applying design principles and design systems

Participate, and often lead, customer research with clear goals, a testable hypothesis, and learning plan

Conceptualize a broad spectrum of ideas and then narrow based on experimentation and customer research

Deliver user flow diagrams, interaction patterns, design specs, wireframes, mentalmodels, information architecture, and prototypes using emotional design methods

Push and evolve visual frameworks and patterns based on brand guidelines

Collaborate effectively with other designers, content strategists, product managers,marketers, and researchers

Partner with product managers and development peers to sweat the details of delivering experiences that go beyond MVP to delight our customer

Take projects and own them start to finish, with input from Senior Designers

Provide strong attention to detail, proficient in development hand-off, including QA-ing designs and articulating implementation details/specs in user stories

Solicit feedback and contribute constructively to design reviews

Advance a strong point of view, backed up by personal expertise, design rationale,customer data, and industry trends

Work on multiple projects at one time, using strong communication skills to manage time and expectations appropriately

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in interaction design, product design, visual design, service design, or related field

Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Human-Computer Interaction Design, or other relevant field; Master’s preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered

Deep knowledge of design principles, methods, layout and composition

Deep empathy for customer problems and understanding of business needs and goals

Great attention to detail, organizational and documentation skills

Curiosity and commitment to testing new ideas and innovating to drive business results

Effective communicator, presenter, and negotiator

Expert at conveying ideas and concepts through storyboarding, wireframing, andprototyping

Mastery of design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Illustrator, Mural/Murio, etc

Experience working with Jira is a plus

Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is Bay Area California $148,500- 201,000, Southern California $136,000- 184,000. This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits). Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.
