JOB SUMMARY: The Estimator is primarily responsible for accurately estimating the cost, time, materials, labor, and equipment required for customers by analyzing proposals and project requirements. They will also analyze blueprints, determine project specifications, write, and manage proposals as well as other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services. The Estimator will work closely with many other professionals including project managers, contractors, accountants, and operations employees to provide the most accurate and comprehensive financial and budget analysis. They should be able to perform cost analyses, determine the duration of a project, procure vendors and subcontractors for the proposal.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Can analyze complex or diverse information.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Technical writing experience and the ability to draft complex proposals/bids.
• Thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and procedures.
• Proficient in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis.
• Experience with analytic tools, such as spreadsheets and database management.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
• Ability to multi-task and handle multiple competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Deltek Vision/Vantage Point project software, preferred.
• Excellent written communication and interpersonal communication skills.
• Exceptional time management skills.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree required.
