About Us:

INVO Underwriters is a growing MGA (Managing General Agent) with a national presence. We are a digital first MGA with specialty divisions to provide insurance solutions to independent agents nationwide. We are expanding our offerings with the creation of a new Specialty Truck Insurance division, designed to provide comprehensive coverage for the trucking and transportation industry. This new division offers an exciting opportunity for the right underwriter to grow with us, build processes, and expand a network of agents and markets.

Job Overview:

The Specialty Truck Insurance Division Underwriter will be responsible for developing and managing a new division within INVO Underwriters. This individual will handle submissions from agents, ensuring complete files and compliance with underwriting guidelines while building strong relationships with agents and carriers to secure competitive terms for their clients. The underwriter will also play a pivotal role in developing processes for the new division and contributing to its growth and overall success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Underwriting & Submissions:
• Review submissions from agents, ensuring all required documentation is complete (applications, loss runs, etc.).
• Collaborate with carriers to secure proposals and competitive terms that align with the needs of the agents and their clients.
• Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines and carrier-specific requirements.
• Agent & Carrier Relationships:
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with a network of agents as well as partner carriers.
• Act as a liaison between agents and carriers to facilitate smooth, efficient communication.
• Leverage your own network of agents and markets to grow the Specialty Truck division.
• Division Development:
• Assist in building out underwriting processes, workflow efficiencies, and operational guidelines for the division.
• Contribute to creating marketing and communication strategies to expand the division’s presence in the marketplace.
• Play a key role in building a team and hiring additional underwriters as the division grows.
• Training & Growth:
• For the right candidates with strong industry experience but limited underwriting experience, we are willing to provide training.
• Assist in educating and mentoring agents about the specifics of the trucking insurance industry and our offerings.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience:
• Experience in the commercial insurance space, ideally within trucking, transportation, or specialty lines.
• Experience working as an underwriter or retail Agent/Broker in the trucking space.
• A network of agents and carrier markets is highly desirable.
• Skills:
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple submissions and deadlines.
• Organizational skills to develop processes for a new division.
• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in insurance, business, or a related field (preferred).
• Insurance designations (CPCU, CIC, or equivalent) are a plus.
